Not perfect, but I like it

I did however not like the instructions and ended up making the diamonds like this

Sewed two strips one background one pattern together 

Cut it to the exact width of 1 3/4 with the centre being the seam then from there cut large diamonds 60 degree of a width 2 11/16 

The cut this in half, 

Then turn one over and see together

And you have the large diamond

I have on purpose cut the White squares half an inch larger so I can trim after appliqué. I appliquéd with freeze paper in place

Then when completed I cut the back out

Remove freeze paper

And then trim the squares making sure the diamonds are as centered as possible
