My second block.

Hand appliqué,used a bit of glue to keep the melons in place. Loved doing the appliqué.

Ready to start

A good friend of mine Anne Cheng told me about Dear Jane Quilts I had a look and straight away I was hooked.

So book and computer program has been ordered and I will set out on this project.

To practice I tried out some appliqué and paper piercing as I had never tried either.

Decided I needed to learn hand appliqué

I checked the Internet and used the method with freeze paper left in and then removed afterwards

So easy - this is my first attempt

The front - I love how it takes on a 3 D effect

The back - look how pretty after I cut out the paper

I sort of used this guide, but kept the paper in and cut it out afterwards
